Alright people, I've been reading about the new updates (I'm late, I know) and hearing a bunch of friends starting to play WoW (Cataclysm) again all day over Skype made me feel like doing like them, but on Maple : creating a new character to check the updates (Big Bang sounds a lot like Cataclysm too...) and to rediscover the world (Hurray!). I was wondering how many of you still play (I know some of you do already tongue.gif) and maybe what classes are worth trying with the updates, since I'm not too up-to-date about that. I don't know when I'll be starting (Might wait for a friend) but I'd like to hear about you guys and Maple again.

Thanks!

Loose has a new guild in Zenith consisting of South Perry people that I've been with.

I'm pretty sure Lina, Lugin, and Joe still play. IIRC, Krissy rejoined too.

Shinji's still in Bera. That's about it though

Yeah, I'm still in Windia.
Mostly waiting for the next class, next patch.

Not to mention the SP problem I've had since they redid the skills.
Basically, I advanced late 3 levels. Previously, that only hurt 1st job.
Now, it's taking those 9 SP out of 4th job. That hurts.

Yay Marc! You should definitely rejoin. tongue.gif

Yep, me and Lugin are still active on Windia, but I haven't seen Joe around lately. The new classes are Wild Hunter and Battle Mage, and Mechanics will be out soon too. I don't recommend Wild Hunter, but the other two sound awesome. All of the existing classes also got major revamps, so you might want to check those out before you choose.

Edit: the maple section of this forum is so old and lonely. sad.gif it could use some activity.

There's a lot of MS updates that seem to be alarmingly similar to the specific way wow does things (though with the potential system, blizzard itself might be more accurate)

You'll get used to it, once the loling dies down.

I've been on my Dual Blade and it's apparently not on anyone's buddy list or the guild. The name's ImpulseEXE. I've mostly been afking around. Been finding training a bit demotivational since I 2HKO things, and it's a bit annoying since Slash Storm is a movement skill, and trying to use Tornado Spin is retarded. Duration is exceptionally short (like 2 seconds?) and I tend to be knocked midair when I try to use it because I'm bad so I end up normal attacking which is lol. Training is super fast but I really don't care either way, and I'm more waiting for Chaos anyways still (and ZHelms to deflate even more) so I can go up on Evan, raise another Cygnus and be more lolbalanced on my Aran.

@ Lina : Do you know when those will be out? I just checked the new curve and since it's WAY faster now, if it's only in two weeks I might as well get to level 70 or something tongue.gif

I'd also appreciate it if anyone knew where I could get some info about those classes. I found a few guides but that's about it.

The three stickies at the top.

Wild Hunter and Battlemage are usable.
Mechanic should be available next patch, probably around the 19th/20th.

All three fall under the "Resistance" category when starting a new character.

Being a rebel and playing the other crossbow wielding class. Just because Sniper/Marksman has an aura of badassery that no jaguar can touch.

On the flip side of the coin, feeling REALLY moody right now because an Enhancement scroll trolled the fuck out of me. Just when I waste 600 million and scroll myself a 141 attack Dark Neschere, the first enhancement scroll fails and it blows up. Just so happens that as a result, I rage scroll my current 115 Dark Raven with enhancement scrolls (2 already worked), and it works, giving me a 118 Dark Raven. fml, although not so much since I'm going to farm/merch nonstop now.

So... anyone know of any money making places? Aside from bossing, which I obviously can't do, and APQ, which I'd need NX for (plus my corsair is stripped due to me wanting to fund the Sniper). Which PQs (since the level limits are lifted) and training grounds are best?

Oh, and add Ayrecks if you want.

I've decided to train my Aran more right now but I've also made a crossbowman which I'll probably train after (when a friend of mine will be able to play).

My Aran's name is CMomiji.

Apparantly Joni told me about this, but I typically tune out when he mentions Maplestory.

However seeing you mention WoW and Cataclysm and saying Big Bang is similar...looks like I am going to have to log on.

Big Bang is the "Cataclysm" of Maple Story, on a much less epic level.

I still found it fun. Cataclysm on WoW actually bored me except I can fly everywhere now.

I made my Wild Hunter and am loving it. tongue.gif

I actually READ the quests now since it's nice to see how the story plays out.

I'm actually enjoying cataclysm a lot more then Big Bang. The quest chains are more involving and eventful, the rewards better, the usual with every expansion - except that phasing is improving by leaps and bounds.

On the other hand, after 140 big bang requires less exp to level, but you yield far less exp/hour. Nexon have fudged the figures to LOOK like there's less grinding. In reality? I gained 7.5% an hour at skeles on one of the 2x events, and skeles are supposed to be a 15x training area. I pretty much got bored after a week, only staying cause my wow account was dead until after january >_>

I've seen a very interesting post on Southperry about the preBB and postBB experience. To give you an example, a mage would get about twice the exp he got before around level 100-110, but when you get to higher levels, the exp is about 5%. So it really makes things easier to get to fourth job, but after that, it's gonna take a while to level...

Nexon should just undo the acc system. Then my mage can level at breakneck speeds XD
