Recommend me an attack to replace this hideous Rock Smash on my Ampharos. Preferably a Special Attack.

^Rock Slide is a physical move in G/S... matter of fact, it's still a physical move.
Can it learn Ice Punch? If so, then you can hold against Dragons and Ground types not named Dugtrio.

Thunder is more than enough lol. Replace thunder punch with Ice punch and you're good to go with a decent competitive monster.

Also, i'm trying to dig up an old physical/special type chart, but can't find any. What I know is based off of hazy memory, but as far as I recall, in G/S/C:

Thunder is more than enough lol. Replace thunder punch with Ice punch and you're good to go with a decent competitive monster.

Dynamicpunch won't work as well because of its mediocre attack stat compared to special attack, and Dynamicpunch isn't reliable in terms of accuracy and drawn out battles.

I remember when my Togetic evolved too... I was like what the pineapples?
I use it for competitive play; it's built around paraflinching using its Serene Grace ability:

Thunder Wave (hence the "para" in the build)
Aura Sphere (to counter Steel/Rocks)
Nasty Plot
Air Slash (30% flinch becomes 60% flinch with Serene Grace)

And 252 HP EV/126 Special Defense EV/132 Special Attack EV

Aww, I'm totally jealous of your moveset, my brother told me to get all these moves and I did it, later found out he bullshitted me =_=; I had to ambush my staraptor (lolfaill. default pokemon</3) to bring it in, so it has all these shitty HM moves D':

Alright. Here's my current team. This is GSC so remember, no Third Gen. Not gonna stick Legendaries in. Looking for suggestions just to hear what people think and know about pokemon. I didn't bother EV Training or breeding because I just wanted to kill some time and not stress myself out worrying about being completely perfect.




Pidgeot's stats are mediocre. Lowest in all departments except speed of all my Pokes. Used to take down Grass, Bug, and debilitate with Sand-Attack.
Slowbro has unsatisfactory Attack and S. Attack stats, sadly, though he has great Defense. Surf is awesome. Psychic takes care of Poison easily. Strength combined with Curse is so-so, but it would be better if not for his poor speed.
Dragonite is a beast. I never really have an opportunity to use Agility. Wing Attack is there because it's a Physical based attack and thats his higher stat by ~30. Waterfall because I needed it and it's always useful to have a Water attack to take down Fire, Ground, and Rock. I'm wary about putting another element on him since his Atk his better than his SpAtk though. Otherwise, I'd probably stick Thunder there.
Ampharos, seen above. Thunder because he leveled up to learn it. I only taught it Rock Smash as a place holder to get them dogs out of the Burnt Tower. Prior, he knew Tackle. Takes care of Grass, Ice, Water, Bug, Flying with his punches. Can't learn Ice Punch, sadly.
Feraligatr's Atk is higher than SpAtk so I taught him Slash and Earthquake. Earthquake is beastly damage, and lets me take care of Steel. Ice Punch goes for Rock, Grass, and Flying. Hydro Pump takes care of Fire, Rock, and Ground. Slash is just strong.
Tyranitar is a beast like Dragonite. Poor SpAtk though. Crunch is for the Dark so I can get Psychic down. Iron Tail because it's beastly strong. Earthquake for same reason. Screech to lower defense sharply.


Suggestions? I'm thinking of maybe replacing the Pidgeot and Slowbro. My team is heavily slapped around by Electricity which is a small bit of a problem. Red's Pikachu cleared my team completely on his own before I got my Tyranitar.

Dynamic Punch is ew by the way. 50% accuracy X_X

FEAR rattata.
I still remember seeing the epic battle between Marriland and Untouchable. AND AND WHEN THE lvl 1 RATTATA KILLED THE LVL 100 EMPOLEON I SHAT MYSELF.

I loled and i was like wow, if i was smart i would actually try to plan my team out like that. But nope, I'm so useless with Pokemon, i just train em lots, i barely even care about their stats :S. I should start thinking things out.

Slowbro isn't so bad-- but if you could get hold of an Espeon (lolEV ;_;) or an Alakazam, I think you'd be way better off.

Can't trade, so I'd have to hack an Alakazam out and I'd rather not. Could go for an Espeon though since that'd make use of that damn Eevee.

LOL@@@. Yus it can fly. Skarmory has high defense, but I can't really fight with it, but that's probably because Maya has no strategy ;_;
