Don't think you're so special.

I prefer calm quiet rather than restless fun - cats fit perfectly into that category. I don't think I can keep up with a dog's constant need for attention.

My dog goes outside, always. And, if he throws up, he cleans it up, if you know what I mean.

At least your dog's low maintenance, I guess. Self-sustaining or whatever you want to call it.

Ever since I can remember, every dog i've ever met (without fail) has reacted badly and gone crazy around me. On the other hand, whenever I see a cat it is friendly, and it's actually possible to care for it lol.
I remember when I was about 17, I got into a routine where whenever i'd go out, i'd get everyone's taxi home, and walk like half a mile to my house. There was this one cat that I used to see every week without fail, almost like it was waiting for me. I'd stop and pet it every time I saw it lol. Ironically, the girl that owned it went to the same school as me. I saw her trying to get it to go home after it followed her to the bus stop, and it seriously wouldn't listen to a word she said. o.o

Cause cats are stupid and do not understand commands. Cats are attention whores who bail on you the first time you don't pet them, they get their fix elsewhere.
Dogs on the the other hand are loyal, and are always happy to see you. It's like you stay out all night and walk in the door at 6am. They're still there waiting to say "FUCK YEAH YOU'RE HOME" when you arrive.

It obviously depends on the breed but dogs are generally much smarter than cats, some are amazingly smart.
Ask any dog owner and he'll be willing to tell you thousands of anecdotes about how his dog did something really clever and surprised him.
Ask a cat owner and he'll tell you how it left bird carcasses on his bed, scratched him or ran head first into a sliding glass door.
Also, my cat never welcomed me home by running to the gate and walking by me to the house then bringing me a slipper, now that's some loyalty and intelligence.
Cats are cute and all, but yeah, dogs all the way.

Then taking care of that damn cat involves cleaning up all the shit she leaves around the house in anger that their masters haven't been home for a week, despite my efforts to keep her litterbox clean.
(Fortunately, everyone comes home tomorrow night.)

I know how that is... D=
Luckily ours dont really shit or piss around the house, but he does throw up pretty often. Whether or not there's anyone else home, their stomachs apparently can't handle cleaning it up, so I have to go do it. <.<
